European countries do not have a unite strategy towards the Syrian conflict,  “EU countries are looking like absolutely disintegrated in front of Russian Federation and the United States” said head of Euro Parliament Martin Schultz.

Talking about official position of Berlin commissioner added that it is not necessary to criticize Berlin’s foreign policy over the Syrian problem. Because of orientation of Berlin to the United Nations strategy.

Since march of 2011 civil war inside of the country escalated to critic level on August in 2013, when the mass media began to claim up about using of chemical weapon against militants by the government troops. President Bashar Assad denied the all accuses addressed to his government and his own person as a cruel dictator. Opposition forces gave a statement about death of 1,3 thousand people nearby Damascus.

After a political scandal dedicated to chemical weapons, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov proposed a suggest to take under international control of Syrian weapons. His Syrian counterpart has accepted the suggestion expressing the consent of official Damascus.

On 14th of September in Geneva, state Secretary of the US John Kerry and Minister Sergey Lavrov coordinated an order of export of the chemical weapon from Syria or its destruction till the middle of 2014. The agreement which also verified by the European countries, seeks the OPCW will develop corresponding plan for which realization UNSC will adopt a resolution.

The president of France François Hollande tries to achieve a consensus on the Syrian question from the European colleagues. But Brussels’ answer did not sound yet, German chancellor Angela Merkel in her statement dating on 3th of September, told that the final answer over military intervention to Syria must be given by the United Nations.

The EU has enjoyed partial successes on each of these tracks. UN monitoring of the human rights situation has played a significant role in focusing international attention on Assad’s behaviour, even though Syria has barred UN human rights officials from entering the country (European diplomats in Syria have also highlighted abuses). Initially, Arab countries were divided over whether to support the UN monitoring, but they have increasingly given it their backing. The deployment of Arab League observers to Syria in December failed to deter the government from continuing attacks on civilians.

Hopeless Europe is forced to go to economic and military sanctions against Baath regime over to prevent death and injuries among the civil people. Meanwhile, sanctions have had a strong impact on Syrian economy. The strongest strike was made by energy giant Shell, which determined to withdrew from Syrian energy market. As a result oil prices in the country have leapt. Such kind of measures carried out by Europe have put the Assad’s regime under pressure.

What will be the next scenario due to halt conflict volume in the region? France – raise a suggest to create humanitarian aid program to refugees and civil people, Germany – which decisively against military intervention support an economic sanctions, Assad’s the biggest neighbor Turkey – which if supporter of war but does not want to use force raised the possibility of buffer zone in Syria.

Refugee crisis

Since beginning the conflict death toll in Syria had reached to 120.000. a real statistics of death is unknown. Neighborhood countries with Syria host majority refugees. Jordan, Turkey, Egypt and Lebanon were obliged to found refugee camps and within the help and support of Red Cross and UNCHR.

As Syria is much more closer to Turkey, it is threatened to refugee flood from it’s ill-starred neighbor.

If to take into consideration the Libyan, Yemen, Egypt crises, EU failed to attempt any peaceful step over to reinstate previous image. The Syrian crisis is the second and maybe the last opportunity for EU to proof its’ values due to human rights. Some leading European countries closed their embassies in Damascus beginning on 2012, countries such as Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, France and etc. Following sanctions have pitted the EU against Russia which is still threatening UNSC by “veto diplomacy”. The meaning of Syria for Russia is very huge enough than thinks some experts and state officials.

Today Syria’s closest satellites Russia and China determined to come to common consensus with the EU countries because of toll deaths of people and dread to lost Syria’s ports (for Russia) and against growing influence of the USA in the Middle East (for China) forced both of sides to make a decision. Within the Geneva talks Syrian government approved to destruct all chemical labs around the Damascus which could considered as a victory of the EU position due to the human rights in Syria.
